Trustees & Our Team

Dr Christine LockeFounder & Chief Executive Officer
Dr Christine Locke is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Diversity House, a charity she established in 2007 to promote community cohesion, social inclusion, and equality across Swale and the wider Kent region. With a PhD in Health and Wellbeing, alongside master’s and postgraduate qualifications in public health, community cohesion, addictive behaviours, and modern languages, Christine combines academic expertise with extensive real-world experience.
Her career spans teaching, administration, banking, bilingual communication, community development, and health promotion, giving her the versatility and cultural insight to work effectively with diverse communities. Christine founded Diversity House in response to social tensions and the need for greater trust and engagement between local authorities and minority groups. Under her leadership, the organisation provides advocacy, mentoring, youth and women’s programmes, cultural and heritage initiatives, and skills development opportunities.
A passionate advocate for equality, Christine challenges dismissive labels such as “hard to reach” and champions inclusive, culturally competent services. Her work ensures that underrepresented voices are heard, valued, and empowered, making Diversity House a vital hub for social cohesion, resilience, and opportunity in Kent.
