Coffee Morning and Well-being Space

Life moves fast, and in the rush of daily responsibilities, it is all too easy to let our mental and emotional health take a backseat. That is why creating dedicated spaces to pause, breathe, and connect is so vital.

Every Monday morning from 9:30 AM to 11:30 PM, Diversity House opens its doors for our Coffee Morning and Well-being Space at ISP House, Church Street (ME10 3EG) led by Dr Zina Lehef. More than just a routine coffee break, this program offers a warm, safe, and inclusive environment designed to support holistic health through a diverse range of evidence-based well-being practices.

Exploring Our Well-being Approaches and Their Benefits

To help our community thrive, our space integrates multiple pathways to mental, emotional, and physical wellness. Each approach offers unique benefits:

  • Meditation and Mindfulness: Taking time to quiet the mind helps reduce cortisol levels, lowers stress, and improves emotional regulation. Mindfulness anchors us in the present moment, fostering inner calm and clarity.
  • Breathing Exercises: Controlled breathing is a powerful, instant tool to calm the nervous system. It lowers blood pressure, reduces anxiety, and helps centre the body during overwhelming moments.
  • Meditation with a Cup of Tea: Combining the ritual of a warm drink with mindful presence turns a simple daily habit into a grounding sensory experience, promoting relaxation and mindfulness.
  • Gratitude as a Lifestyle: Practicing regular gratitude rewires the brain to focus on positive aspects of life, boosting overall happiness, building resilience against stress, and improving sleep quality.
  • Art and Craft: Creative expression engages the mind in a soothing, meditative “flow” state. It provides a healthy emotional outlet, reduces anxiety, and boosts self-esteem through tangible accomplishment.
  • Journaling: Putting thoughts on paper helps process complex emotions, clear mental clutter, and track personal growth. It is a private, empowering tool for self-discovery.
  • Talking Therapy and Safe Conversation: Sharing experiences in a supportive community lifts the heavy burden of isolation. Open dialogue validates feelings and promotes emotional healing.
  • One-to-One and Group Coaching: Personalised and peer-supported guidance helps individuals set actionable goals, overcome personal obstacles, and build confidence in a structured, encouraging environment.
