Sewing Workshop – September 2019 to December 2019
Supporting Women and Girls ran a Sewing Workshop for 10 weeks, it was so popular that an extra week was added, making it 11 weeks in total. Diversity House were delighted to deliver Black History Month events in Swale. Holy Trinity Community Open Day
Holy Trinity Church in Milton Regis, Sittingbourne organised a free community open day on 14th September 2019. The day was a community engagement event which was for all ages. The event opened to the public at 10am, but there was much work beforehand by helpful volunteers and staff to set up for the day. There was teddy bear abseiling. Black History Month 2019
Diversity House ran a Black History Month 2019 event in Phoenix House, which was funded by Swale Borough Councils Cultural grant. The focus of the event was the celebration of achievements from Black Individuals in Kent. We showcased the work of Barbara Walker, who is currently exhibiting her work at The Turner in Margate until April 2020.
