Developing the Diversity House Women’s Health & Wellbeing Index
For almost two decades, Diversity House in Sittingbourne has played an important role in bringing people together, championing equality, and strengthening communities across Kent and Medway. Through our ongoing commitment to inclusion, collaboration, and community empowerment, we have built trusted relationships that continue to make a positive difference in the lives of many.
Building on this rich history, we are now exploring the development of the Diversity House Women’s Health & Wellbeing Index for Kent and Medway. This ambitious, community-informed initiative is designed to place women’s voices, lived experiences, and community insight at the absolute heart of research, partnership, and positive change.

Our Journey So Far
The seeds for this Index were planted during the Diversity House Summer Reception, and the project has been gaining momentum ever since. Over the past few months, we have hosted a number of dedicated research roundtables. These discussions have sought to bring together community knowledge, lived experience, research, public health intelligence, and professional expertise to strengthen our understanding of the health and wellbeing challenges—and inequalities—experienced by women and girls across our communities.
As we move into the next phase of development, we are delighted to announce that on Friday, 9th of October, we will be hosting a collective roundtable at Diversity House. This event will provide a space to review the development of the Index so far, share key insights from our previous roundtables, and discuss the roadmap ahead.
A Call for Collaboration
Importantly, this is intended to be a deeply collaborative initiative. Because we are at an early stage of development, we are actively seeking to engage organisations, institutions, and individuals who can help shape its purpose, priorities, and future direction.
We would welcome your thoughts and invite you to consider how your organisation, expertise, and experience might contribute to this important journey. Together, we have a unique opportunity not only to better understand the challenges women face but also to:
- Identify targeted opportunities for action
- Influence local services and policy
- Celebrate women’s contributions to our communities
- Help create healthier, more inclusive environments for generations to come
