Building Stronger Communities Through Food and Wraparound Support

Diversity House Community Resilience Hub provides free, practical support for residents across Swale who are experiencing financial hardship or are struggling with the rising cost of living.

We understand that many people need more than emergency food support. Our Community Resilience Hub combines immediate assistance with personalised wraparound support to help individuals and families improve their financial resilience, wellbeing, confidence and independence.

Support Available

Residents can access a range of free services, including:

  • Multicultural emergency food support
  • Social Supermarket (affordable food with dignity and choice)
  • Budgeting and financial resilience support
  • Information, advice and referrals to specialist services
  • Healthy eating, cooking and food budgeting sessions
  • Digital inclusion and online skills support
  • Employability, CV writing and job search support
  • Volunteering opportunities
  • Active Over 50s health and wellbeing activities
  • Community events and social inclusion activities

Our experienced team will work with each resident to identify their needs and develop a personalised plan to help them move from crisis towards greater stability, confidence and independence.

Who Can Access the Service?

The project is open to Swale residents aged 18 and over who are experiencing one or more of the following:

  • Financial hardship or low income
  • Food insecurity
  • Debt or fuel poverty
  • Unemployment or barriers to employment
  • Social isolation or loneliness
  • Digital exclusion
  • Poor wellbeing linked to the cost-of-living crisis

We particularly welcome referrals for:

  • Low-income households and families
  • Older people
  • Unemployed or economically inactive residents
  • People from ethnically diverse communities
  • Refugees and migrants
  • Residents experiencing multiple disadvantages

How to Access Support

Residents can:

  • Contact Diversity House directly to discuss their support needs.
  • Self-refer by telephone, email or through our website.
  • Be referred by Jobcentre Plus, Swale Borough Council, health services, Citizens Advice, housing providers, schools, community organisations, social prescribers or other partner agencies.

Our friendly team will arrange an initial conversation to understand individual circumstances and ensure residents receive the most appropriate support.
